I've added updated my icon journal with Audrey Hepburn. I know I've got plenty else to do, not to mention friends to call. Heck, I could even write a decent journal entry. But, oh well. Check her out if you do so care. I doubt they're anything terribly original.

Well, I've gone and created an icon journal. Now don't expect me to update it often. This is probably just a small fanciful venture I will take on and never quite complete. All I have up at the moment are vintage sex icons. If you'd care to see, please do.

My Ebay auctions, guys. Be nice and look, but only if you want to. My mom's FINALLY getting out of her vintage business, so these are the few things I put on Ebay to help her out. Some of it is nice, really.

2:35 pm - A Few Weeks' Ramblings
|
I guess since I have a little bit of time, I'll make a quick update of my life, although I doubt many will care.
Last Thursday I called Megan casually from work to see if she wanted to do anything that night. She turned me down because she was going out with her boyfriend whom she hadn't seen in "almost a week." So this caused me to think that nothing had changed and that maybe she wasn't willing to make the effort after all. However, ten minutes later she called back to tell me that she thought it was more important that she saw me. I have to say I was very happy. Not to mention that the whole not seeing a boyfriend in a week doesn't phase me much, as I haven't seen mine in almost 5 months. In any case, we went out to eat and then to Border's and while our problems these past few months were hardly touched upon, I think we had a nice time. I'm glad I finally got the courage to break the ice between us.
Friday morning, I went to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban with Megan, Katrina, and her mother as a sort of party for Katrina's birthday. I was so happy to see Katrina again. I, of course, was chosen to take the seat of honor next to her, which was nice, until towards the end of the movie she kept on trying to get my attention to talk about glasses and driving and whatnot.
Yesterday I trained in Jillian ( jilliet) at the hair place. I had heard she had been looking for a job, so I recruited her. We had a decent time (I hope) gossiping about the neighbors and brushing hair.
After work my mom and I went to the Reagan memorial at the state capitol. My mom's always been rather partial to him, so she really wanted to go. It was basically just a table in the middle filled with flowers and cards and Jelly Bellies (I'm sorry, but when I die, please don't give me candy) and a book for everyone to sign. My mom wrote a very nice note to Nancy Reagan about how both her grandmother and Reagan were elected into offices at the same time (he to presidency, while she became the mayor of a mile-long town in north Minnesota), and how they both came down with Alzheimer's around the same time, and that she had just died in March. I could tell my mom put a lot into the note and I wish that she could be guaranteed that Nancy Reagan would read what she had written. I didn't know what to write (I mean, what can you really say that hasn't already been said?), so my mother dictated to me a few lines about how Reagan stood up for the country and how I wish more people were like him, or something to that extent. The Republican volunteer guys were amused and told me that the governor's wife wrote a whole long thing in the book, and all he did was sign under her.
Oh, and then we went to see Cold Mountain finally, which I really liked. But I'm running out of time, and this is already much too long, so I will stop right here.

|
I'm blonde again. I've gone so long without a dye job (i.e. the mousy brownish gold hair seen in my one icon with my red glasses that is accompanying this post), looking in the mirror and seeing blonde roots is very odd.
In other news, there was a raving maniac Bible guy on campus yesterday who drew a huge crowd of people. Apparently anyone who considers becoming intoxicated at the prospect of free beer is going straight to Hell. He said a lot of other things too, like the fact that it is wrong to stick a bottle of Mello Yello up your nose (alluding to gay relationships) and that the Devil will strip you naked and cause women to wave their bras in the air. And then he told this other guy to cut his hair because Jesus had short hair. Oh, it was rather exciting. Then this guy was passing out pink anti-homophobia stickers right in front of the crazed religious fanatic. Hooray for him! I proudly wore my sticker on my backpack for the rest of the day.
And I'm rambling incoherently.
Cheerio!

2:45 pm - First Long Post For A While
|
Oh, I had quite the weekend. When I came into work on Friday night, Maria was panicking because her baby was sick (Creative Hair Design is the land of young, unwed mothers) and she had to go into treatment during the day on Saturday and Maria couldn't find anyone to work for her. I, being the kind soul that I am, offered to take over her shift for her, even though I was happily anticipating the weekend off. To make myself feel better, I bought a wig, yes a full wig, not just a hair piece. We just so happened to get the red one that I've been wanting for over a year now in stock, and Alissa (the owner) has given us a deal for the month of April where we are allowed 50 percent off merchandise at the cart, and she is also willing to take the price out of our checks this month as well. Therefore, by merely having a small sum of 100 dollars taken out of my check at the end of April, I am now the proud owner of a red, shoulder-length wig.
So, I came in Saturday at 9:30 am, prepared to leave at 3:00pm. However, Missy (a rather annoying high school girl who typically works at the cart at Maplewood), decided she was too sick to come in for the afternoon shift. As Maria had already called everyone the night before to work for her and to no avail, it was obvious that nobody would be able to work the next shift. So, as I am such a kind-hearted person, as well as manager of the cart, I took it upon myself to work the rest of the day, for time and a half pay from 3-8:30 pm. So I worked an 11-hour day, on my feet the entire time, and no break whatsoever, besides once when I went to the toilet.
I had called Natalie ( royal_highness) earlier in the afternoon for a very quick chat, which was interrupted by customers. I fully intended to call her back once work was done, but I was so tired and out of it by the time I got home that all I was able to do was talk to Luke for a few minutes before falling asleep and not waking up for another 13 hours or so.
Sunday was a misery of headaches and allergies and homework that didn't quite get finished.
And that's about it.

7:53 pm - Just Because Everyone Else Is ...
|
1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says: "Maintain thy honours and enlarge thy fame ..." Eh, the introduction to the version of The Odyssey we're reading in my myth class.
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?: My cute khaki coat.
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?: Some Food Network lady from our local morning show making edible Easter baskets
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is: 8:00
5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?: 7:57
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?: My mother watching the T.V. in the next room.
7: When did you last step outside? what were you doing?: Getting out of the car and going inside. I was on my way home from school.
8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at? Ultimatedisney.com, baby!
9: What are you wearing?: Jeans and pinkish shirt that says "Shooting Star Crew film productions" (from Old Navy a few years back)
10: Did you dream last night? Something about my grandparents and not being able to speak, which I suppose symbolizes their inability to listen to either my mother or myself.
11: When did you last laugh? I was telling my mother about my friend Tricia's very short husband who says he's 5'10. Not that funny, I know, but I'm lame.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?: I'm in the kitchen, so it's my mother's ugly country house wallpaper.
13: Seen anything weird lately?: Nothing I can think of ...
14: What do you think of this quiz?: A waste of time, I suppose.
15: What is the last film you saw?: My Roman Holiday DVD which was part of the Audrey Hepburn Collection boxed set I got from Luke for Valentine's Day.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?: Sleeping Beauty's Castle in Disneyland.
17: Tell me something about you that I don't know: I had the hots for Chip from Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers in first grade.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?: Free cookies!
19: Do you like to dance?: I would if I could.
20: George Bush: He's funny!
21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?: Bettina Joy, naturally.
21: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?: Haven't given that one quite as much thought. I still like the name Gavin ...
22: Would you ever consider living abroad?: Yes, please!
23: Will you pass on this survey?: Um, too late.

Today was really tiring. I got out of bed really early because my mom was yelling at me.
I feel unusual because my antidepressants are making me hairy.
I'm so stoned.
Last night I had to finish my term paper on the history of pre-communist Russian society. I focussed on the needs of women. I think it's ok, but if I don't pass this I'll lose my scholarship.
I want to tell the world that I love you all! You're all so special to me!
I am really annoyed with those assholes at _are_you_hotter_than_us_?, because I am so much cuter than them, and those photos don't do me justice. They can't reject me, so I'm starting my own rating community. Click here to join (the first five applicants are automatically accepted).
Today, I got a digital camera! Yes! Here's ten thousand photographs of my cat.
I want to say thanks to the academy for giving me this award.
I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I have bipolar disorder, and a healthy imagination.
You should all do this quiz! It's amazingly accurate. You just put in your name and birthday, and it will tell you you're a moron.
Wheeeee!
That's enough for now. But I'll leave you with some naked photos of myself. (Not safe for work - teehee).

4:37 pm - Why Is The Grass So Wet?
|
Spring is finally on its way, so that has lifted up my spirits a bit. The warm weather and longer days give me a bit more energy and determination to get things done. Plus, I'll be seeing my Luke the end of May, if everything goes as planned, so how can I not be happy?
Otherwise, things are as usual. I'm continuously boggled down with homework that I can never quite finish at the sort of quality I'd like, and I work work work. Not that I mind working. Generally I enjoy being busy, and I like the control I have over people at work. Not that I feel a need to boss people around exactly, but it's nice to have the power where I can tell someone to do something and they do it. It's not something very common for me.
That's it for now, I guess. My astronomy lab is in 20 minutes or so. I feel like I'm failing miserably in that class, but hopefully I'll pull though.
Cheers!

My very first attempt at making an icon! It's from a candid picture Megan's dad took of us at Disney World two years ago while we were waiting outside the bathroom for Megan's mom and sister. I must say I'm rather pleased with the result. The icon makes me look 50 times prettier than I actually am!

4:01 pm - Really Very Personal, No?
|
Oh yes. I forgot to mention that I wasn't allowed to sing at the funeral. My mother had also prepared a very nice eulogy, but that was snubbed as well. Instead, a very out of tune old woman who is a very distant cousin of my great-grandmother, so they say, sang, and a pastor who had never spoken to my great-grandma in his life gave the sermon.
